Luminar 2018

with Nicole S. Young

Attention Windows Users:

The new version of Luminar 2018 is the first iteration to be available on both Mac and Windows. Because it is newly-developed for Windows not all of the features made it into the software at the time of release. Lesson 04:

“The Luminar Tools”

Luminar comes with the ability to crop an entire image, transform a layer, as well as repair and remove blemishes in a photo using cloning/stamping and erasing. In this lesson I will discuss the tools in Luminar, including:

  • Cropping and rotating an image
  • Selecting and locking the image aspect ratio
  • Using the Erase tool to paint away blemishes
  • Working with the Clone & Stamp tool to have more control over the blemish removal process
  • Transforming an individual layer with the Free Transform tool
