When I decided to write a book using ON1’s newest software version, ON1 Photo 10, I knew I wanted it to be about masking. Layer masking in any application is what makes the software so incredibly powerful, and it’s no different with ON1. Yet masking can also be one of those techniques that mystifies some photographers, especially those photographers new to post-processing. I know, I’ve been there myself!

In the creation of this book, I wanted to show just how powerful the masking tools are inside of ON1 Photo. The book starts out with the basics, but I also wanted to go beyond the simple sky replacements and “easy” masking. There is a full chapter on masking hair, and I even show some of the tricky “artsy” stuff, such as double exposures and composites. Each technique is demonstrated by using step-by-step tutorials of real photographs, and I also run into challenges along the way. In other words, this training is not intended to make ON1 Photo “look good”; I use some images that, while they are great candidates for masking, they are also intentionally difficult to work with.

If you currently use ON1 Photo and would like take the next step with processing your photos, then please take a look at the product page and buy the training!

By the way, ON1 Photo has a free trial. Please download the software for free and give it a try!

This ebook on masking is absolutely wonderful!! I have always had trouble masking, no matter what program I tried to use, but this set of video instructions show you exactly how to do a great job of it. I couldn’t be happier with the $60.00 spent, it was worth every penny.
