Home for the Holidays

This weekend, and most of next week, I’m spending some quality time in Portland, Oregon. I lived here less than a year before moving to California, but out of all of the places I have moved to I consider this my home. In just the first full day here I’ve seen more beauty than I have seen in the past six months … this place is gorgeous even when all of the leaves are gone off the trees! I can’t wait to eventually make my way back here and be home for good. :)

My son and his wife live near Portland (Lake Oswego), so my wife and I have visited many times, although never in winter. I completely understand your feelings about the Portland area. It is very beautiful.

I’ve been living in Portland for seventeen years, a cross-country transplant from Boston, and couldn’t agree with you more. As a new owner of a 70D, my first dSLR, I came across your book on the camera. I really need to learn more about the camera’s capabilities and, more importantly, how to best use them. Thanks for your blog, too. I appreciate your candid and clear writing style.
