After photographing non-stop in Australia for over two weeks, what did I want to do as soon as we got home? Yep, that’s right … head out with my camera for some more photography. :) So Brian Matiash, Brian Bonham and I jumped in the car and set sail for Steep Creek Falls, just across the Washington border.

The waterfall was easy to find, and beautiful, but I couldn’t get a clear shot of the entire thing without getting a bunch of leaf-less sticks in the way. So instead I focused on the mossy rocks and the smaller, less obvious parts of the stream. We found this patch of water that was just so blue and found compositions that worked well with it. The water was also ridiculously clear (and quite cold). Overall it was just so beautifully serene and peaceful … and I still can’t believe how blue that water was.

Processing Info: The majority of my editing was done in Lightroom 4. I made basic tone adjustments and then added one of my own presets, Country Girl from the “Nostalgia Portrait” preset pack (http://store.nicolesy.com/products-page/all-products/nostalgia-portrait/). After a few tweaks and edits I moved it over to Photoshop to do a bit of cloning and tone/color enhancements.
