It’s autumn, my favorite season, and one thing I love about this time of year is that the food is so memorable. When I was melting the caramel for these photos I could feel the season … the memories of walking through a pumpkin patch and getting a caramel apple at the little shop before we went home. I could remember that feel of the chill in the air that felt oh-so-good.
I reserve certain flavors for this time of year (like pumpkin or gingerbread lattés, for example) because I want to keep those memories inside. Smell and taste can conjure up so many lost emotions and evoke nostalgia … food fuels our body, but it also has the power to mold tradition and bring us together.
Happy Autumn, everyone :)
