Canon 60D, Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens, 1/80th sec at f/2.8, ISO 200

Earlier this week I photographed another cute little newborn baby (only five days old!), this time a boy. He really wanted to stay awake during the shoot, and since his eyes were open the entire time I did my best to try to get the shots where he was looking at the camera. I really love this image, he just looks so intent and absolutely adorable. :)

This was photographed with all natural light—I have a very large North-facing window in my studio and it is perfect for subjects like this. I stuck with the 50mm for all of the images, since it’s a pretty fast lens and the light was not extremely bright (we’ve had some soft, cloud-diffused sunlight over the past few days here in Utah).

That fast 50mm is like the baby lens. Great work.

The baby and the picture are beautiful.

For me, it has been difficult to photograph a new born.
