First Studio Shoot

Canon 7D, Canon 24-105 ƒ/4L IS lens, 1/60 sec at ƒ/4.5, ISO 160

Today I used my studio for the first time and put together a food setup (pasta). I have North-facing windows on the front of the room which is perfect light for this type of photography. Everything went smoothly … I even went out this afternoon to get a compact fridge for the storage area so I can store my miscellaneous food items in-between shoots. :)

Here’s a photo of the setup I used for the above shot. The lighting is diffused natural window-light to the right with a silver reflector on the left. To mount the fork I attached a Manfrotto Magic Arm to a small light stand and clamped the fork on to the extended arm. I then stuck the pasta on the fork and added the sauce and garnishes after it was all in place.
