As a stock photographer I’m constantly looking for new models—here is an FAQ list so you can find out more about modeling for my company.
A little bit about what I do: I’m a full-time professional commercial stock photographer and I license my images through iStockphoto.com (more info here). I enjoy creating beautiful, colorful images and do my best to have fun in the process. I’m always looking for people to work with, so if you have a great smile and would like to give modeling a try then please read below to find out more!

Q: How much do you charge?
A: I’m a full-time stock photographer, so I don’t typically offer traditional portraits and headshots … however I do make exceptions, so please contact me for more information.
Q: What types of models do you work with?
A: Since most of the work I do is commercial lifestyle photography, and I like to create images where the people look “real”. I work with models of all age levels and experience, so even if you don’t think you have what it takes to model then you might just be what I’m looking for!
Q: Are there any age requirements?
A: The short answer is “no”. I photograph people of all ages, from babies to seniors. Anyone under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian approval in order to model for me, and they also must be willing to sign a model release on your behalf.
Q: Do you pay your models?
A: Yes, I pay each model depending on their level of experience and our working relationship. I also do consider TFCD arrangements as well.
Q: Where do you take the photos? Do you travel?
A: Most of the work I do will be at my photography studio in Draper, UT and also on-location in the Salt Lake Valley and surrounding areas. I don’t typically travel away from this area for stock photography, but if you have something in mind then please let me know and we might be able to work something out.
Q: Do you have a makeup artist or hairstylist at each shoot?
A: Many of the images I photograph are categorized as “lifestyle” images, so I’m usually looking for a natural look (light to normal makeup) and don’t require the use of a stylist. There are some exceptions, depending on the nature of the photo-shoot, but the majority of the time I will ask you to do your own hair and makeup. If you would like to have a stylist present during your shoot please contact me and we can make arrangements.
Q: How are the photos you take of me used?
A: Photos taken at each shoot are for my stock portfolio on iStockphoto.com. The images I create can then be licensed by designers, bloggers, etc. to be used in advertisements, news articles and various other forms of media. I also use the images in my own portfolio, books, articles, and on my blog.
Q: Do I get copies of the images?
A: With all TFCD arrangements I will provide you with fully-edited copies of all images used (usually around 25-50 photos, depending on the shoot). You will receive full-resolution (no watermark) and also smaller web-sized versions for personal use, printing and online portfolios. For paid models we can work out arrangement if you would like copies of some of the images.
Q: Do I have to sign anything?
A: All models, both TFCD and paid, will be required to sign a model release in order to be photographed
